I started at Doner as a part of a team of interns tasked with creating pro-bono and in-house projects. The team included several creatives, a producer, and me - the cinematographer/editor. Our first project was rebranding the Detroit Historical Society. It was so well received that I was hired on full-time and took on bigger projects. The majority of my projects at Doner were spec work: videos that sold the look and feel of a spot, without requiring immense budgets. Though that’s not to say my work was small in scope. For example, I shot the new Chrysler 200 against a two story cyclorama with a new RED Scarlet purchased for our productions. These projects led to working on Super Bowl pitches for Chrysler/Fiat where we shot and edited three different spots as they’d appear on air at a reduced budget. Chrysler/Fiat liked our work so much they green-lit the Charlie Sheen Fiat spot⬏ that aired during Super Bowl XLVI.
